Split into two halves, Lobuche Peak is positioned in Khumbu Region. It divides itself into Lobuche East (6,119 m) and Lobuche West (6,145 m), both of which are linked together by the continuing ridge. Lying at the Mahalangur range, Lobuche East Peak Climbing in Nepal attracts you with a panoramic view of the Himalayas. It includes Everest (8,848.86 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Makalu (8,485 m), Nuptse (7,861 m), Amadablam (6,812 m), Thamserku (6,608 m), Pumori (7,161 m) as well as other Himalayan peaks.
Lobuche East Peak was first ascended by Laurence Nielson and Ang Gyalzen Sherpa on 25 April 1984. Lobuche East Peak in Nepal will take you to another level of climbing experience. Entering the serene premises of Sagarmatha National Park, crossing the Dudhkoshi River, crossing within oak and pine woodlands witnessing wild lives and bird makes your climbing memorable. Escorting through highland villages and enjoying the scenic views and the hospitable local people are the major attractions of the Lobuche Peak Climbing.
After reaching Everest Base Camp and the famous Kala Patthar, from where we enjoy the fantastic view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, and other mountains, we return to Lobuche village, the trailhead for Lobuche Peak Climb. The trail up the valley from Lobuche becomes increasingly steep and rocky as we near the Lobuche Base Camp, 4950m. From Base Camp, we ascend over steep stone landscapes and snowy inclines using fixed ropes to reach the ridge along the southwest face, where we set up High Camp, 5600m. We get superb views of Amadablam, Cholatse, Thamserku, Kantega Peak, and Tawache Peak on the way. Standing to the top of Lobuche East Peak will provide you an adrenaline rush and, of course, the path to achieving bliss.
Lobuche East Peak Climbing itinerary begins from Kathmandu with 35 minutes of flying to Lukla. Walking towards Phakding to Namche Bazaar clustered with lodges and hotels, we will go through fascinating scattered villages of Tengboche and Pheriche to make it to the Lobuche base. The route from the high camp begins to be slushier, and we need to cross the rocky slab using the rope. Then the trail goes through the narrow icy ridge, which is technically a challenging part of this expedition. Waving flags at the Lobuche East summit, we will be back to Lukla, and a memorial flight back to Kathmandu ends the calming trip.
This challenge makes you feel like you can climb the world and stand on a tiny summit high in the Himalayas. This is an exceptional feeling, but you need to come trained and prepared for the climb.
This adventure is designed especially for dedicated & strong-willed trekkers or climbers who have the ability to walk in snow ridges. High altitude sickness could be an issue but with slower gradual ascends, you can beat altitude sickness. Have some daily workouts-jogging, hiking, cycling, gym prior to climbing expedition; You own this trip!
This trekking route is open all year long, but it is recommended to visit during SpringSpring or autumn for the best possible views and experience. The mountains and skies are going to look crystal clear during this time, and the weather will be mostly stable. Winter is not recommended as the temperatures can drop quite low, and it might be harsh on newcomers.
Autumn Season (September to November)
Autumn is the best time to climb Lobuche East Peak. September, October, November are the months of the Autumn season, which are the peak times to climb in Nepal. The trails are busy during these months.
September is the first month of the Autumn season that comes just after the departure of the Monsoon season. So, there might be light rainfall during early September as the monsoon is on the edge of farewell. But the raindrops of the Monsoon season wash all the dust from the terrains and vegetation.
There is greenery everywhere during the autumn season because the raindrops of the monsoon season wash all the dust from vegetation. The streams, waterfalls, rivers, ponds, and lakes get refilled after the Monsoon season. So, it is an excellent time to view the water glory of Nepal.
Moreover, the air is also so cool and chilly during the autumn. From mid-September, you will witness clear skies and uninterrupted mountain views. The scene from every corner of everything appears so attractive. The autumn season only lacks blossoming flowers, but other things are just perfect. You’ll find a calm, transparent, and dry climate from mid-September till the late-November. This is why most climbers favour the autumn season.
