Chulu far East Peak Climbing is a famous trekking peak located on the top of the Hongde of Manang Valley with astounding views of Annapurna II, III, and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Tilicho Peak, and Manaslu. A German group first summited this peak in 1995 via the northern ridge.
Chulu far East Peak Expedition is relatively challenging, but the reward and experience will embed forever in your memory. This peak demands technical climbing skills and alpine experience as well as good physical condition and stamina. You will climb through ropes on vertical sections and a ladder to pass crevasses.
Chulu far East Peak Climbing is full of adventure and discoveries as you will be walking through Annapurna Conservation Area. This conservation area is blessed with natural and cultural diversities with the magical snow-capped mountains in the backdrop.
Chulu far East Peak Climbing starts with a drive to Besishar. From here, the trek winds up to Marshyangdi River. Spring Season (March to May)
Spring is another best season to do Chulu far East Peak climbing. March, April, and May months fall in the Spring season that welcomes thousands of trekkers and climbers to Nepal. Spring is an unbeatable time for any adventure.
Spring is the season of blossoming wildflowers and green vegetation. The trails to the Chulu far East Peak are elegantly decorated with several and multicolored flowers and plants. Winter and Monsoon are the two offseasons for trekking and climbing in Nepal. Winter is the coldest season of all, and Monsoon is the rainy season. This is why most trekkers and climbers don’t pick these seasons for their adventures in Nepal. The Winter months fall from December to February. With the arrival of the winter season, the warmth starts in fall. Monsoon months are also known as summer-fall from June to August. It is the time of hot and humid temperature, and the clouds revolve around the atmosphere of Nepal.

After visa procedures and formalities, our staff will welcome you and drive you to your hotel in a cozy private vehicle. After hotel check-in, you can take a good rest after your long journey. In the evening, you can stroll around the valley and experience the rich culture of the Nepalese capital.

In the morning, after breakfast, at around 7:00 AM, we will host a pre-trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu. We will introduce you to your trek and climbing leader/guide. You can ask any questions related to the trip today. During the meeting, we also provide you with a Duffel Bag and a Camp. During the meeting, please clear the due, if any, and sign the legally binding form as well as the non-liability disclaimer.
After meeting and breakfast, your sightseeing trip starts at around 8:00 AM. We will provide you with a private city guide and a private vehicle for the trip. Today you will visit the sacred Hindu Temple, Pashupatinath (biggest temple dedicated to Lord Shiva). Next, you will visit Swayambhunath (2,000 years old monkey temple) and the Boudhanath (largest Tibetan stupa). Later in the evening, you will explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, an epitome of the medieval era.
Overnight at hotel

Your trip leader/guide and other crew will meet you early in the morning at your hotel lobby. After breakfast, we will start our scenic drive to Besishar. Besisahar is about 185 km north of Kathmandu and it takes a 6-hour drive to reach there. On the way, you will enjoy the spectacular snowcapped peaks, green hills, rivers (Trishuli and Marshyangdi both popular for rafting), and countryside villages.

Today is the first day of our trek. Today’s trek introduces us to the lush geography and cultural practices of Nepal. You will walk through subtropical forests and terraced files to get to the village of Khudi.

After breakfast, you will walk on a pleasant trail through Marsyangdi River Valley with magnificent views of Annapurna, the Manaslu range, and cascading waterfalls. And soon you will get to Ngadi – a perfect for lunch.
Post lunch, you will climb through the lush rhododendron forest to Bahundanda. Bahundanda is the village of Brahmin – the so-called superior caste of Nepal.

From Bahundanda, you will rise up to the ridge and drop down to the river to follow the trail that leads to Syange. Here you will cross the suspension bridge and climb for an hour to reach the next overnight spot at Jagat.

After morning meal, you will walk out of suspicious, sunlight-dappled forest via rivers. And then pass charming dripping waterfalls. Crossing the stream multiple times via bridge, you will cross come across steeply staying sizable rocks that created the valley edges.
After walking for a while, you will descend once again and end around into a wide valley. From here, you will enter into the Manang region, and then shortly after a wall of the prayer wheel, you will reach Tal – a perfect spot for lunch. After you walk beyond Tal, the trail becomes rugged and windy.
After a while, you will reach the steeply-forested community of Karte. Waking along the waterfall and cliffs, you will finally reach Dharapani crossing a suspension bridge.

From Dharapani, it takes around 5 – 6 hours to reach Chame. You will follow the northwest trail along the Marshyangdi River and walk across a small stream called Dudh Khola which flows from northeast meets. The trail rises gradually up through the Tibetan and Gurung Settlement up to Bagarchhap and Danakyu. A steep one-hour climb takes us to Taming (2,720m). Here you will be rewarded with a majestic view of Mt. Manaslu and Annapurna II.
The trail then goes through the pine forest to Thanchok and Koto and then reach Chame, the district headquarter of Manang district. Chame reveals an outstanding view of Annapurna II, Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal and offers two natural hot springs to enjoy in the evening.

After breakfast, you will cross the Cheggi Khola River and rise gradually to a peaceful apple field where you will find some stone huts and vantage points. Further, you will pass a scenic waterfall draining from a tall cliff in the distance before reaching a small meadow where mountain goats and yaks graze. Finally, you will arrive at Yak Kharka and set a camp near a stunning ridge offering great views of mountains looing over the valley.

After enjoying the great sunrise, you will continue via a zigzag trail before the meadow meets a giant rock formation. You will camp near a spectacular viewpoint offering stunning views of Annapurna giants.

Today you will take an entire day to adjust at a high altitude. Enjoy your free day to relax, interact with locals, prepare your gear and take a short hike to enjoy the local scenery.

After making all the arrangements, you will rise gradually to the High Camp enjoying the drastically changing scenery. You will climb to the high camp which allows the best access to the peak. Our climbing leader will set camp here and after all, set-ups, enjoy magnificent sunset as the mountain changes its color into pink and yellow.

Today is the day that you have been desperately waiting for. Fully equipped and acclimatized, we begin our journey early with the aim of summiting the peak before noon. The strong winds after midday can be a barrier to reaching the summit. Following the guidance and instruction, you will negotiate several technical sections and climb to the summit.
Initially, you will follow a fairly leveled trail and later becomes steeper and cross rocks in the mountain tracks. As you reach the top of the peak, you can enjoy the great view of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Manaslu, Pisang Peak, Chulu West, and the Himlung Valley at the north side. After enjoying the views, you will descend all along vertical slopes to the high camp and then to the base camp of Chulu far west.

Initially, the trail takes you to Julu Khola and then continues through a leveled trail along the forests to reach Manang. Manang is a picturesque village with Gurung, Ghale, and Lamas as inhabitants of the village.

From Manang, the trail goes across the stream and climbs to the village of Tenki before climbing out of the Marshyangdi Valley. Then it turns northwest up the valley of Jarsang Khola and follows the northward valley, passing a few pastures and dwarf vegetation. Passing the village of Ghunsa and crossing a wooden bridge over the river, you will reach the small village of Yak Kharka.
The trail from Yak Kharka is steeply uphill. First, you will cross a suspension bridge and reach Ledar village and make a final ascend through towering cliffs to Thorang Phedi. On the way, you will be rewarded with outstanding views of Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, Thorong Peak, and Mt. Khatungkan.

Today you will be crossing the Thorong Pass from east to west, which is the easiest and safest direction. Get up at around three in the morning and start climbing up to the pass. Climb steeply on a regular route which is quite easy; however, some problems may arise due to altitude and snow. After four hours of climb, you will reach the pass marked by the chorten and prayer flags and another four hours of descent will take you to the holy valley of Muktinath.
Muktinath is the temple of Nirvana and is highly sacred to Hindus and Buddhists. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and houses 108 waterspouts around it. Other highlights are nearby Jwala Mai Temple which has a magnificent natural spring and an eternal flame fueled by natural gas.

Now you are on another side of Thorong La Pass. Today you will walk along the bank of the Kali Gandaki River through dry and desert-like landscapes. Most of the time, you will walk along with stupas and ancient traditional houses, and the civilization of the Mustang.
Dropping down from Ranipauwa village, you will reach Kagbeni and a further walk will lead you to Jomsom.

The flight takes 25 minutes from Jomsom to reach Pokhara. The flights are available only in the morning time because the strong breeze blows and frequent changes of weather make the flight difficult to land and take off in the afternoon.

24 Fly to Kathmandu and enjoy farewell dinner. O/N in hotel
After breakfast, you will say goodbye to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. Drive to domestic airport and catch 25 min exciting flight back to Kathmandu.
Once in Kathmandu, our airport representative will drive you back to the hotel. After some rest and refreshment, you can explore the landmarks of Kathmandu which you have missed on Day02, or simply spend your time souvenir shopping.
In the evening, attend a farewell dinner in an authentic Nepali restaurant with cultural shows to celebrate the successful completion of the trip.

Your adventure holiday in Nepal comes to an end today! Our airport representative will escort you back to Tribhuvan International Airport, approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight.

Today, you will continue the main trail leading to the Chegaji Khola Valley on the way to Chulu East Base Camp. You will walk through the beautiful juniper and pine forest before reaching the known as Julu.

if you get ill during peak climbing stay where you are or turn back down to camp with climbing guide or helper or friend.
