Our Mardi Himal Trek starts from the beautiful Pokhara, taking the ride up to Kande. From Kande onwards, we trek into the forest camp, passing the Australian Camp and Deurali. After passing the forest, we come across the different landscapes where we have to pass through the steep rocky path. We rise above 3000m altitude. We keep on ascending to reach the high camp (3580 m). The thin and dwarf vegetation confirms altitude, so we walk at a gradual pace.
We reach the viewpoint afterward from where we can see the Machhapuchhre and Annapurna Range so close to us. We capture some moments with these majestic mountains and head back shortly afterward. Mardi Himal Trek is well known for its pristine location, considered one of Nepal's best ones. We get to experience the great adventure and thrill of this wonderful trek to Mardi Himal. We descend through the alpine forest full of beautiful white and red rhododendrons passing through different villages enriched with diverse ethnicities trailing through the rocky and steep landscapes.
Mardi Himal Trek is considered an easy to moderate trekking route of Nepal. The trekking distance is short, with a gradual increase in height. The maximum height of this trek is Mardi Himal Base Camp, with an altitude of 4500 m.
This trek has one of the biggest draws, as you will achieve amazing views of the Himalayas without ascending much higher. You will get a good time acclimatizing during the trek, so there will be less chance of altitude sickness during the trek. If you are getting enough rest and stay hydrated, there is a very low risk of altitude sickness.

Spring Season in Mardi Himal Trek

During the spring season, the forest is decorated with many colorful rhododendrons and the chirping sound of birds.
Autumn Season in Mardi Himal Trek
The autumn season falls from September to November, which is another best season for Mardi Himal Trek. The autumn season lies just after the monsoon so that you will see the washed environment and fresh air. This season will come to life, as the hills will be refilled with lush and vibrant views. The views will be clear, and able to see the beautiful White Mountains. On normal days, there are several domestic flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The cost for the one-way flight will be around USD 170 per person. This is the fastest way to reach Pokhara as it takes only 35 minutes to reach there. If you are willing to travel by air in peak seasons, you need to confirm the tickets as early as possible.
By Tourist Bus
The tourist bus to Pokhara leaves early morning from Kathmandu daily at around 7 to 7:30 AM. By tourist bus, it takes about 6 hours to reach Pokhara if there is no highway disturbance. On the way, there will be a two-time break, which is for breakfast and lunch. The fare of the tourist bus will be around USD 30. The fare will depend upon the quality of the tourist bus.
By Private Vehicle
Private vehicle movies as early or late you want and leave daily from Kathmandu. The rate of a private vehicle to Pokhara costs about USD 150, and a maximum of 4 people can be transported in the car. Our representative will be awaiting your arrival outside the terminal at Tribhuvan International Airport with placards. S/He will escort you to your hotel where you can rest after your flight. In the evening, we will have a short pre-trek meeting, where your trek leader will brief you regarding all necessary information and queries. Afterward, you will be served a traditional Nepali dinner as an introduction to the country’s culture.

A short scenic flight can take you from Kathmandu to Pokhara in less than an hour. You will have a fantastic aerial view of various mountains and the landscape of the region during the flight. If you choose to fly to Pokhara, you will be escorted to the hotel, and then you will have the rest of the day to yourself. You can explore the lakeside streets and markets or go for a boating session in Phewa Lake. The default route, however, is to take a bus through the Prithivi Highway for about 6-7 hours, following the Trishuli and Marshyangdi rivers. We’ll arrive at Pokhara in the afternoon, with just enough time for some boating in Phewa Lake. Either way, we’ll spend the night in a hotel in Pokhara.

After waking up to the beautiful view of lakes and mountains in Pokhara, we will have our breakfast and catch a quick ride to the small village of Phedi. Our trek finally commences in Phedi as we begin to walk on the gentle forested trail filled with rhododendrons and steadily climb towards the Australian Camp. After a brief stop at this pleasant clearing for lunch, we will have a slight descent as we make our way towards Pothana. We’ll arrive in Pothana with a few more hours of trekking and spend the night at a good spot in tented camps.

We have a gradual uphill trek today on the less trodden path towards Forest camp. We will pass through forests of oaks, rhododendrons, and maples on the uphill and downhill path. Walking in this quiet sub-alpine environment will be a very calming experience. We will eventually arrive at our destination, the Forest Camp, and set up camp. You can spend the evening exploring nearby Kokar with its basic teahouses.

On the way towards Badal Danda from forest camp, there is a possibility of us encountering some of the rare wildlife of the region including Spotted Deer, Musk Deer, Himalayan Thars, and Snow Leopards among many others. After about 3 hours or so, we’ll reach the low camp where we’ll stop briefly for lunch. A couple more hours of walking will take us to the fantastic vantage point at Badal Danda. We will witness a breathtaking sunset view from here with Annapurna, Himchuli, and Machhapuchhre in the backdrop as well.

We will leave the forests behind at Badal Danda today as we continue along the ridgeline towards Mardi Himal. We notice the scenery gradually changing as we ascend higher towards the alpine grasslands. After a few hours, we will arrive at our campsite at high camp with even better views of Annapurna and Fishtail. We will just enjoy the stunning scenery for the rest of the day with the possibility of spotting a Danphe/Monal. We will take an early night today to prepare for the trek tomorrow

We will have a pre-dawn trek to the upper viewpoint today to witness the fantastic sunrise view. We will climb up the steep and narrow trail through the pastures to the upper viewpoint, which lies midway between the high camp and the Mardi Himal Base Camp. This splendid vantage point sports astonishing views of Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Mardi Himal, and Machhapuchare among other peaks. Once we’ve had our fill of the view, we will steadily descend back down all the way to low camp.

You can sleep all morning today to rest from the excursion we’ve had the last few days. After breakfast, we will leisurely walk for a few hours to reach the pleasantly quiet village of Sidding. We’ll have our lunch there and then walk for a couple more hours to reach Lumre. We’ll catch a bus to Lumre and finally arrive at our hotel in Pokhara in the evening.

You will have a full day to yourself in Pokhara, which you can spend alone or with the rest of the group. The major attractions and activities in Pokhara include boating in Phewa Lake, exploring the Gupteshwor Mahadev and Mahendra caves, and visiting popular places like the Tal Barahi temple, Davis falls, and World Peace Pagoda. We will spend the night again at our hotel.

Yet again, there are two ways to approach our trip back to Kathmandu. You can have a short scenic flight that’ll take you less than an hour. If you choose to do so, you will have a day to explore the capital and its popular spots including Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath stupa, Swayambhunath stupa, and the old palaces (Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares). However, the default route will be to take a bus and retrace our tracks the same way we came. In this case, you’ll arrive at the capital in the afternoon and have just enough time to explore and shop around the bustling streets of Thamel. You will have the opportunity to get any souvenirs or mementos that you may want during this time.

As our trip is now at an end, we will have a brief farewell ceremony after breakfast. Our representatives will escort you to the airport a few hours before departure time if you have a flight back home. Or, you can continue on to any other treks that you might have planned.

The journey to Annapurna Base Camp begins today, starting with a 1.5-hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. There, we will start our trek and the first stop will be at Birethanti, a charming little village near Modi Khola. After crossing a suspension bridge and passing a number of small and refreshing streams, we will reach Tikhedhunga (1,500m). Our overnight stay will be at a lodge in Tikhedhunga.
