Annapurna Base Camp Trek (4,130 m) is also called the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, which passes through the gigantic and majestic lap of the Himalayas. During the trek, you will be able to witness the legendary Annapurna Massif with thirteen peaks above 7,000, including Annapurna I (8,091m) Trek to Annapurna Base Camp for the striking high altitude trails stretching through multiple environments in the Annapurna Conservation Area. You will quickly witness diverse scenery as changes in the altitude from tropical forest to knee-deep snow are among spectacular snow peaks. We will also experience the furious waterfall, beautiful villages, dense forest with rhododendrons which adds more beauty to nature.
Also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, this classic trek has been one of the most popular treks in Nepal for decades and shows no signs of changing. Getting lost into the lap of the Annapurna Massif and being in the base of the world's ten highest mountains is the best feeling in the world. Seeing the peeking mountains from a distance, sharing smiles with the traveler, and experience the day-to-day lifestyles as the day ended makes your trek memorable.
Annapurna is the 10th highest peak in the world and is regarded as one of the most challenging peaks in the world to scale. In stark contrast, the Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of Nepal's safest and easiest base camp treks despite leading up to high altitudes of over 4,000 meters. Furthermore, the landscape, scenery, flora, and fauna of the Annapurna Conservation Area and the local culture combine to offer a truly breathtaking experience on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek.
This trek is a classic tea house trek where you will be staying in the small lodge. Interacting with the local people, guides, and other staff on the trial will give you a glimpse into their way of life. As you are in the trial, you will witness several small villages inhabited by Gurung, Thakali, and Magar peoples.
All in all, this trek is going to take some of your time, but it will be worth it because of getting the satisfaction of being in the nature and base of the world's ten highest mountains. You will also be collecting an abundance of fun and adventure on the trail.
Route to Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins with the drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, followed by another short drive to Nayapul. Here, the trekking begins, and the route diverges two ways. A direct route to the base camp via Chhomrong is available, but we will instead take the detour through Ghorepani Poon Hill. In doing so, we will pass through numerous Gurung, Magar, and Thakali villages and experience the culture and lifestyle of the local people. The morning at Poon Hill is also a major highlight of the trek, where we can enjoy the breathtaking sunrise view over the Himalayas.
Following the morning there, the actual Annapurna Base Camp Trekking trail resumes as we pass through Tadapani, Chhomrong, and Deurali to finally reach the Machhapuchhare Base Camp (MBC). The challenging part of the trek is over, and it is mostly smooth sailing till the Annapurna Base Camp from here. We will explore the base camp in the evening and stay the night at a lodge nearby. The morning hours at ABC are amazing, and the first rays of the sun color the whole place golden.
The return journey takes us mostly through the same route as before but offers a comparatively easier experience as the trek is mostly descending. You will have more time and energy than before to enjoy the region's culture, scenery, and wildlife during this time. Finally, we successfully complete the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with the trek back to Nayapul and drive back to Kathmandu via Pokhara.
Another title for Annapurna Base Camp also gives as "Trekkers paradise." The diverse landscape and culture of local ethnic groups are the main attraction during this trek. It is the dream of every trekker to reach the base camp of such mighty and magnificent trekkers.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is considered moderate as anyone with fit and healthy people can easily complete this trek. It is not a very demanding trek and the max altitude reached is 4,130m. You don't need to have previous trekking experience for this trek, and there is not much risk of altitude sickness either.
Trekking through the lap of the Himalayas means there will be an adventure waiting for you in every step. This trek is one of the most exciting and adventurous journeys for every trekker. But, challenges and difficulties will add up to the adventure in your trekking.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is most popularly done in the spring and autumn seasons. These periods, lasting from March to May and September to November, respectively, offer the best experience for this trek with stunning views and pleasant trekking weather.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek weather in the winter season (December to February) is also possible and an excellent time to enjoy the mountain views. Do keep in mind, though, that the temperature can get very low, and snowfall can block the route at a higher altitude sometimes. Monsoon trekking faces a similar problem as the rainfall can make the trail inaccessible or dangerous, so this is not a good time for a trek to ABC.

We will retrace our steps along mostly the same route as before for 7-8 hours to eventually reach Bamboo. Overnight stay at lodge in Bamboo.
Our return journey continues with the trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda. We will first descend to Chhomrong Khola and make the short ascent up to Chhomrong. We will also pay a visit to this natural healing center as long as we have enough time. Overnight at a lodge in Jhinu.
Once again, two options are available as we head back to Kathmandu. If you don’t have to worry about the budget, the scenic flight route is definitely the superior option. But going by default itinerary, we will take a jeep or bus and make the drive through Prithivi Highway to Kathmandu.
