Mesmerizing view from the highest viewpoint of this trek, Gokyo-Ri

Trek offers you an amazing view of Sherpa Culture and Himalayan Lakes.
Alternative Trek to Everest Base Camp.
Stunning views of Everest and another eight-thousander
Opportunity to see diverse flora and fauna inside Sagarmatha National Park.
Ngozumba Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal.
Gokyo Valley Trek also includes an assortment of turquoise-tinted lakes, which is highly sacred for Hindus and Buddhists.
The major attraction of Gokyo Valley Trek covers a hike to stunning Gokyo Ri at 5,340m. From here, we can enjoy the magnificent sunrise view over the world’s tallest mountain range and the Gokyo valley beneath us.
The view of the world’s highest mountain range includes Mt. Everest (8,848.86m), Mt. Lhotse (8,515m), Mt. Makalu (8,481m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m), Mt. Baruntse (7,129m), Mt. Pumori (7,161m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812m) and numbers of other snow-capped peaks. Below the Gokyo Ri is a board rubble-covered Ngozumpa Glacier which stretches towards Mt. Cho Oyu to be the largest glacier in Nepal.
Gokyo Valley trekking starts after a scenic trans-Himalayan flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the lower reaches of Everest. Then we follow the Dudh Koshi River and walk through the dense rhododendron forest to Namche Bazaar.
We schedule a rest day at Namche that allows us to acclimatize well and explore the region. Namche is the heart of the Khumbu region and is only the place that offers ATMs, Cybers, Restaurants, Bars, etc.
Next, we walk up the edge of Namche and counter the hillside to reach a juncture point at Sanasa: NW to Gokyo and NE to Everest. From here, we leave the main steam trail and walk across the sleepy village of Dole and Macchermo. Next, walking through the snout of the Ngozumpa glacier, we follow the moraine and walk past two lakes to the summer grazing hamlet of Gokyo (located at the edge of the third lake, Dudh Pokhari). Gokyo Valley is engulfed by daunting peaks, with Mt. Cho Oyu standing right to the north.
Like most treks in Nepal, the best time for the Gokyo valley trek is spring (March-May) and autumn (September – November). However, there is no absolute best time for everyone; it depends on how you feel about the crowds and your tolerance for heat, cold, and rain. Each season has its pros and cons.
Weather in spring (March-May) and august (September – November) remains stable with clear views. But nights get a bit cold at higher elevations, so it is wise to pack some warm clothes.
Summer (June – August) is a monsoon in Nepal and receives heavy rainfall with a threat of floods and landslides. Plus, the rain makes the trail wet, muddy, and slippery. But monsoon is a real boon for keen botanists, as the entire vegetation is at its best.
Winter (December – February) is freezing in the Everest region (sometimes the temperature drops to -10 degrees Celsius), and teahouses at higher reaches often remain closed due to heavy snowfall. If you are intending to trek Gokyo Valley in winter, we suggest you check the availability of the teahouse.
Gokyo Valley Trek is a moderately difficult trek. The trek lasts for two weeks, beginning with the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and gradually climbing up to the Gokyo Valley Camp. The highest altitude is reached at EBC or, more frequently, at Kala Patthar (5,545m). Proper acclimatization is necessary to be able to complete this trek.
Most people can complete this trek with some training and physical preparation, even if they have no prior trekking experience. However, if you are not fit or have some health issues, it is recommended to consult with us or your doctor first before planning this trek.
The cost of Gokyo Valley Trek will be determined by the type of trek you are planning, your trekking route, time on the trail, and the season you choose to trek. Overall, the cost of the Gokyo Valley Trek is about USD 1585 to 1525 USD.pp
Gokyo Valley Trek Itinerary usually includes hotel Accommodation, 2 Nigh Room in kathamndu on BB Basis, both way domestic flights, trekking permits, meals, professional trekking guides, porters, insurance, accommodation, entry fees, etc. The cost of this trek also depends upon traveling as private or in a group.
